Chapters eight through fourteen continue Kefei's fictional journey with imagined versions of Leonardo da Vinci and Jean-Paul Sartre. Following an artifact through hidden chambers and surreal landscapes, the trio confronts younger selves, distorted reflections, and tests of cooperation.
Creation, reflection, and balance become roles they must practice together. The story presses beyond easy harmony: self-awareness requires action, and mediation cannot always avoid commitment when a choice has to be made.
