Personal Safety Factor

From the original post on Koffeemocha.

A MOMENT TO CONSIDER

Borrowing the engineer’s idea of a safety factor, Kefei examines the margin between life’s demands and the capacity to absorb them. He reflects on cash, systems, and identity as three kinds of personal buffer.

This is a personal account of reinforcing a life after noticing its brittleness, and of entering a new year with more room to respond deliberately.
